Job Summary
Hariss International is seeking a Shift Mechanical Artisan responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and troubleshooting production machinery and plant equipment. The successful candidate will ensure smooth production operations by performing preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, equipment inspections, and mechanical servicing.
The role requires a technically skilled individual with experience in industrial machinery maintenance, mechanical systems, welding, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, and production equipment troubleshooting. The Mechanical Artisan will work closely with the engineering and production teams to minimize equipment downtime and maintain efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance and Repairs
  • Perform installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of production machines and factory equipment.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Respond quickly to machine breakdowns and provide emergency repairs during production operations.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and replace damaged machine components.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality before returning machines to production.
Industrial Equipment Troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical equipment faults.
  • Identify causes of machine failures and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance instructions.
  • Inspect machinery regularly to detect potential failures before breakdowns occur.
Production Support
  • Support production teams by ensuring machines operate efficiently with minimal downtime.
  • Attend to scheduled maintenance activities during machine servicing periods.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report unusual machine conditions to supervisors.
  • Assist with machinery improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
Plant Maintenance Activities
  • Perform welding, pipe fitting, plumbing, and basic fabrication work.
  • Maintain boilers, production lines, and industrial mechanical systems.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe working areas.
Health, Safety and Compliance
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and industrial maintenance standards.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Report unsafe conditions, defective equipment, and operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and engineering procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in mechanical maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial engineering environments.
  • Practical knowledge of:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Boilers
    • Pipe fitting
    • Welding
    • Pneumatics and hydraulics
    • Industrial machinery maintenance
  • Experience in beverage manufacturing, food processing, or production environments is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Skills and Competencies

Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
Ability to identify machine faults, analyze problems, and perform effective repairs to restore production operations.
Preventive Maintenance Skills
Knowledge of scheduled maintenance practices to prevent equipment failure and increase machine lifespan.
Technical Knowledge
Understanding of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, production lines, welding, fabrication, and maintenance procedures.
Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to investigate equipment problems and provide practical technical solutions quickly.
Safety Awareness
Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures, industrial hazards, and safe equipment handling.
Communication Skills
Ability to communicate maintenance issues clearly with engineers, supervisors, and production teams.
Teamwork and Adaptability
Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
