Job Summary

SeaOwl Group is seeking a qualified and safety-conscious Electrical Technician to ensure the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of industrial electrical systems across project sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electric motors, power distribution systems, switchgear, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and electrical control wiring while performing inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.
This role is ideal for an experienced electrical technician with strong technical skills in industrial electrical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and equipment reliability within the energy or heavy industrial sector.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance
  • Maintain industrial electric motors to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Service and maintain electrical power distribution systems.
  • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical control wiring.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and carry out timely repairs.
  • Replace defective electrical components and restore equipment to operational condition.
Motor Control Centers (MCC) & Electrical Testing
  • Perform routine inspections of Motor Control Centers (MCCs).
  • Conduct electrical testing on MCCs and associated protection devices.
  • Verify the functionality of electrical systems and protective equipment.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with engineering specifications and safety standards.
  • Identify electrical defects and recommend corrective actions.
Inspection & Troubleshooting
  • Carry out routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical faults affecting plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot motors, switchgear, control panels, and electrical circuits.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend preventive maintenance.
  • Support commissioning and testing of electrical installations.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Follow electrical safety regulations and safe working practices.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during maintenance activities.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare maintenance records and electrical inspection reports.
  • Document completed repairs, testing results, and equipment performance.
  • Report electrical faults, equipment failures, and maintenance recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and maintenance logs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through accurate reporting and technical feedback.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:
  • Trade Qualification or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electrics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional certification in electrical installation or industrial electrical maintenance is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience in electrical maintenance or industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience working in oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, mining, power generation, or other heavy industrial environments is an added advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience maintaining electric motors, switchgear, and Motor Control Centers (MCCs).
  • Knowledge of electrical testing equipment and procedures.
