Job Summary

SeaOwl Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Technician to perform field-level mechanical inspections, maintenance, repairs, alignments, and installations on static and rotating equipment used in oil and gas operations. The successful candidate will ensure mechanical systems operate efficiently while adhering to strict safety, quality, and operational standards.
This role is ideal for a technically competent professional with hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment installation, and troubleshooting within industrial or energy environments.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance Operations
  • Carry out field-level mechanical inspections on oil and gas equipment.
  • Inspect, service, align, and repair mechanical components on Fired Heaters and Annulus Gas Compressors.
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and routine maintenance on static and rotating machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
  • Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
Equipment Installation & Overhaul
  • Execute precise installation of mechanical equipment and components.
  • Perform overhaul and refurbishment of mechanical systems and machinery.
  • Ensure proper alignment and calibration of installed equipment.
  • Assist in commissioning newly installed mechanical equipment.
  • Verify that installations comply with engineering specifications and safety standards.
Inspection & Troubleshooting
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, defects, and equipment failures.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Replace defective mechanical parts and components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection reports.
  • Report equipment abnormalities and recommend preventive measures.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Comply with company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Follow safe work procedures during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Record maintenance activities and completed work accurately.
  • Prepare inspection and maintenance reports.
  • Report equipment performance, defects, and completed repairs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing technical feedback.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:
  • Recognized Craft Certificate, Trade Test, or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance.
  • Professional qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance or industrial equipment servicing.
  • Experience working in oil and gas, manufacturing, power generation, mining, or heavy industrial environments is an added advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

Successful candidates should demonstrate:
  • Strong mechanical maintenance and repair skills.
  • Knowledge of static and rotating equipment.
  • Experience with Fired Heaters and Annulus Gas Compressors is an advantage.
