The school is seeking a qualified and experienced Human Resources Officer to support effective employee management, recruitment processes, staff welfare, HR administration, and implementation of human resource policies.

Job Summary – Human Resources Officer

The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring efficient management of employee records, recruitment, staff relations, performance management, compliance, and organizational development.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of human resource management practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with teaching and non-teaching staff in a busy educational environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Human Resources Officer

1. Recruitment and Selection
  • Support the recruitment and selection process for teaching and administrative staff.
  • Prepare job advertisements, shortlist candidates, and coordinate interviews.
  • Maintain recruitment records and ensure proper onboarding of new employees.
  • Assist in preparing employment contracts and staff documentation.
2. Employee Records and HR Administration
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Update staff databases, leave records, attendance records, and employment files.
  • Prepare HR reports and documentation as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing and organization of HR documents.
3. Staff Welfare and Employee Relations
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and staff welfare programs.
  • Handle employee concerns and provide guidance on HR policies.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture based on professionalism and teamwork.
  • Support conflict resolution between employees where necessary.
4. Performance Management
  • Assist in implementing staff performance appraisal processes.
  • Support department heads in monitoring employee performance.
  • Help identify training and professional development needs.
5. HR Policy Implementation and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and institutional HR policies.
  • Support implementation of workplace procedures and regulations.
  • Assist management in maintaining a professional and productive workforce.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources management or a similar HR role.
  • Experience working in an educational institution is an added advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
  • Good knowledge of HR policies, recruitment processes, and employee relations.
