Job Summary

The Company Driver will be responsible for providing safe, efficient, and timely transportation services for staff, visitors, and company materials while ensuring company vehicles are properly maintained and operated in accordance with road safety regulations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, defensive driving skills, excellent communication, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safe Transportation Services
The successful candidate will:
  • Safely transport staff, visitors, and company representatives.
  • Drive company vehicles in accordance with traffic regulations.
  • Ensure timely arrival at assigned destinations.
  • Plan efficient travel routes.
  • Maintain professionalism while on duty.
  • Ensure passenger safety at all times.
2. Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance
Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections.
  • Check fuel, oil, water, and tyre conditions.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Report mechanical faults promptly.
  • Schedule routine servicing.
  • Ensure vehicles remain roadworthy.
3. Compliance and Road Safety
The Company Driver will:
  • Observe all traffic laws and regulations.

  • Ensure vehicle documentation is up to date.

  • Avoid unnecessary vehicle wear and damage.
4. Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Report accidents or incidents immediately.
  • Maintain trip records as required.
5. Administrative Support
The successful applicant will:

Required Qualifications

Applicants should possess:
  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) is an added advantage.
  • Valid Ugandan Driving Licence (Class B).

Required Experience

The ideal candidate should have:
  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience in a medium or large organization.
  • Experience transporting staff and company officials.
  • Strong knowledge of Kampala road network.
  • Proven defensive driving experience.
  • Experience maintaining vehicle logbooks.
  • Good understanding of road safety regulations.
