Job Title: Risk Advisor / Insurance Agent
Location: Head Office, Uganda
Job Summary / Purpose
NIC Life Assurance Company Limited is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced person to take up the position of Risk Advisor/Agent.
The Insurance Agent is responsible for generating new business, building and maintaining client relationships, and promoting NIC Life Assurance products and services to prospective customers. The role focuses on prospecting, customer acquisition, policy retention, and delivering sustainable premium growth while adhering to regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards.
Key Result Areas / Duties and Obligations
You shall be required to do the following:
• Prospect on a daily basis.
• Achieve personal and team production and productivity targets as assigned by the Unit Manager.
• Attend field activations as instructed by the manager.
• Attend meetings and team hurdles to follow up and manage daily activities. Continuous absence without valid explanation may lead to termination.
• Submit daily activity reports to the Unit Manager.
• Obtain a license from the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) authorizing you to work as an insurance agent (company will assist).
• Enroll, sit, and pass COP exams within one year as stipulated by IRA.
• Ensure persistence of business brought in by yourself.
• Comply with company Code of Ethics, laws, regulations, standards, and policies.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Number of policies sold.
• Premium income generated.
• Number of qualified prospects contacted.
• Conversion rate from prospects to policyholders.
• Policy persistency and retention rates.
• Daily activity levels (appointments, presentations, proposals submitted).
• Compliance and quality of business written.
• Contribution to team production targets.
Job Qualifications and Experience
Academic Qualifications
• Minimum of a Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Insurance, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Professional Qualifications
• Must obtain a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Insurance within the period stipulated by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) of Uganda.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Insurance Agent License issued by the IRA.
• Additional certifications in sales, customer service, financial planning, or insurance will be an added advantage.
Experience
• Previous experience in sales, marketing, customer service, business development, or financial services is preferred.
• Experience in insurance, banking, microfinance, SACCOs, telecommunications, FMCG, real estate, or direct sales environments is an added advantage.
• Fresh graduates with strong interpersonal and sales skills are encouraged to apply.

• Willingness to travel and attend field activities, training, and meetings.
