Job Opportunity at Movit Products – IT Infrastructure & Security Manager
Movit Products is a leading manufacturing company in Uganda. The organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of IT Infrastructure & Security Manager.
Job Purpose
The IT Infrastructure & Security Manager is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of Movit’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity framework. The role ensures high availability, performance, resilience, and security of critical business systems, including SAP ERP, manufacturing operations, and corporate applications, while supporting the company’s digital transformation agenda.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
  • Design, manage, and optimize IT infrastructure including networks, servers, storage, cloud environments, endpoints, and data centers
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of systems supporting SAP S/4HANA, manufacturing, and business operations
  • Manage IT vendors, service providers, and support contracts to ensure quality service delivery
  • Lead disaster recovery (DR), backup strategies, and business continuity planning with regular testing
Information Security & Risk Management
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Protect systems, data, and digital assets from cyber threats and unauthorized access
  • Manage security tools such as firewalls, EDR/XDR, SIEM, IAM, and vulnerability scanners
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, penetration testing, phishing simulations, and incident response
  • Ensure compliance with Uganda Data Protection Act and ISO 27001 standards
  • Deliver cybersecurity awareness training and post-incident root cause analysis
Team Leadership & Operations
  • Lead and develop the Infrastructure and Security team
  • Manage IT infrastructure and security roadmap (3-year strategy)
  • Oversee IT budgets including CapEx/OpEx planning and cost optimization initiatives
  • Ensure ITIL-aligned processes (incident, problem, change, configuration management)
  • Support internal/external audits and compliance activities
  • Collaborate with business units, manufacturing, and application teams
Microsoft 365 & Workplace Technology
  • Manage Microsoft 365 identity and access (Azure AD / Entra ID)
  • Implement MFA, Conditional Access, and device compliance policies
  • Oversee endpoint management using Microsoft Intune
  • Support collaboration, productivity, and information governance
Continuous Improvement & Digital Transformation
  • Drive cloud migration, automation, and infrastructure modernization
  • Improve cybersecurity maturity and resilience
  • Maintain infrastructure architecture and security documentation
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience in manufacturing or ERP environment (SAP experience is an advantage)
  • Certifications such as Microsoft, ITIL, CCNP, CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 are an added advantage
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years in IT Infrastructure
  • At least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Sophos, Azure AD / Entra ID, and endpoint management
