Service Centre Technician Job in Uganda | Customer Service & Repair Role

Job Description
A company is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Centre Technician to provide excellent customer service, repair faulty customer units, manage spare parts inventory, and support achievement of monthly revenue and sales targets within a designated regional service centre.
The role combines technical repair work, inventory management, customer support, and field technician coordination to ensure efficient service delivery and high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service & Repair Operations
  • Diagnose and repair faulty customer units efficiently
  • Ensure excellent customer service and positive customer experience
  • Ensure all repaired customers are charged post-service where applicable
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve service issues promptly
2. Work Order & Service Management
  • Manage daily pending work orders and ensure timely closure
  • Coordinate with service tracking desk for customer delivery updates
  • Assign field technicians for high-value customers unable to visit service centres
  • Optimize allocation of tickets across field technicians and service centres
3. Spare Parts & Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and finished goods
  • Ensure 100% compliance in tracking used spare parts returns
  • Manage spare parts movement with proper documentation
  • Conduct monthly stock takes and report variances
  • Support spare parts demand forecasting and ordering
4. Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare monthly stock and spare parts usage reports
  • Circulate stock summaries showing issues, usage, and variances
  • Implement out-of-warranty policies and payment guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with refurbishment and analysis procedures
5. Performance & KPIs
  • Meet monthly revenue targets
  • Ensure high collection performance
  • Maintain operational efficiency and service quality standards
Requirements
  • Diploma or equivalent in an Engineering-related field
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a technician or similar role
    (e.g., solar energy systems, mobile phones, home electronics, or related fields)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Positive attitude with focus on customer satisfaction
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and performance targets
