Job Summary 
EACOP is seeking a qualified and experienced Internal Audit Lead to support the Director of Internal Audit and EIMS in delivering independent, risk-based assurance and advisory services across the organization. 
The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of the annual internal audit plan, assess internal controls, identify business and operational risks, and provide practical recommendations to strengthen corporate governance, risk management, internal controls and operational effectiveness. 
Key Responsibilities 
  • Lead the development and execution of the annual internal audit plan based on comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Conduct special audit assignments requested by the Board or Managing Director (MD).
  • Review and evaluate internal control systems, identify control weaknesses and recommend appropriate improvements.
  • Prepare and review detailed audit reports highlighting findings, root causes, risks and actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Support the development and implementation of audit tools, templates, procedures and methodologies aligned with the Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Provide mentorship, supervision and performance support to Internal Audit Officers.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration with external auditors, regulators and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide ad hoc advisory services to management while maintaining professional independence and objectivity.
  • Support the Director of Internal Audit in preparing reports and presentations for the Audit Advisory Committee and Senior Leadership Team.

Required Qualifications and Experience
 
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional auditing experience, preferably gained within a Big Four audit firm or a comparable professional environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree-level qualification.
  • Additional training in Commercial, Business, Administration, Accounting, Auditing or a related discipline is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, governance and audit processes.
