Primary School Teacher Jobs at Masaka School for the Deaf – Uganda

Job Overview
We are hiring Primary School Teachers at Masaka School for the Deaf to support deaf and hearing-impaired learners using inclusive, learner-centered teaching approaches.
The teachers will deliver lessons using Uganda Sign Language (USL) and visual teaching aids while promoting inclusion, emotional wellbeing, life skills, and holistic learner development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Teach deaf and hearing-impaired learners using learner-centered methods.
  • Deliver lessons using Uganda Sign Language (USL).
  • Use visual teaching aids to support understanding.
  • Promote inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and positive social development.
  • Support learners in life skills and co-curricular activities.
  • Work closely with parents, guardians, therapists, and school staff.
  • Participate in vocational and co-curricular programs.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Special Needs Education.
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in Special Needs Education.
  • Proficiency in Uganda Sign Language (USL).
  • Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired learners.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
