RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and execute technology, security, networks, and operational audit engagements in accordance with MTN audit methodology.
• Assess inherent and residual technology, operational, and fraud risks through identification and evaluation of risks.

• Execute and coordinate continuous controls monitoring using data analytics tools such as SQL, ACL, and MS Excel.

• Prepare audit reports with value-adding recommendations to support effective risk management.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation by management.

• Support investigation of fraud incidents by planning, conducting, reporting, and documenting investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Computing.
• Professional qualification in Internal Audit – CISA (required).
• CISM or CFE is an added advantage.

• Minimum of 3 years’ internal audit experience in Fintech, Banking, or Telecom environments.
• Experience in fraud detection and investigations is an added advantage.

• Proficiency in data analytics using SQL, ACL, and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of IT audit methodologies and controls.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and network auditing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead structured design thinking workshops and innovation sprints to generate high-potential concepts focusing on savings, loans, and payment enablement tools.
• Conduct continuous market gap analysis of the Ugandan fintech landscape, identifying underserved segments such as rural agriculture, lifestyle payments, and SME solutions.
• Develop business cases and feasibility studies to evaluate new service concepts within the MoMo ecosystem.

• Drive agile development, rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration of digital services within cross-functional squads.
• Analyze product performance metrics (e.g., ARPU, active base) to improve user journeys, enhance UI/UX, and retire underperforming services.
• Own end-to-end Go-to-Market execution from business requirements (BRDs) to post-launch monitoring and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with MTN Technology teams and external developers to onboard third-party applications into the MoMo platform.
• Build strategic partnerships with banks, government agencies, and innovation hubs to expand financial inclusion.
• Design and deploy digital tools that strengthen SMEs and increase MoMo adoption.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

• Innovation Pipeline: Number of ideas transitioned from ideation to pilot phase.
• Ecosystem Depth: Growth in active third-party integrations and applications within MoMo.
• Lifecycle Efficiency: Reduction in time-to-market for new features and updates.
• Financial Inclusion Impact: Growth in active users of non-transfer services (e.g., MoMo Loans, MoMo School Fees).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or Software Engineering.
• At least 5 years’ experience in product management or innovation roles, preferably in fintech, telecom, or technology startups.

• Strong proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with API marketplaces and mobile financial services (MFS) platforms.
• Strong “Techco” mindset focused on value-added digital platforms beyond connectivity.
