Position Summary

The Wild Ones Club is looking for an experienced and highly organized Venue Manager to oversee the daily operations of its hospitality and events business.
This role requires an individual with proven leadership experience within the hospitality industry who can successfully coordinate restaurant operations, manage staff, maintain service quality, supervise inventory, monitor finances, and ensure guests receive an outstanding experience every time they visit.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring smooth operations while contributing ideas that support business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Venue Operations
The successful candidate will:
  • Supervise the daily running of the restaurant, bar, and event spaces.
  • Ensure efficient coordination of front-of-house operations.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures that improve efficiency.
  • Monitor cleanliness and presentation throughout the venue.
  • Ensure customer service standards remain consistently high.
  • Coordinate bookings and event schedules.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor venue performance and recommend operational improvements.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures.
Staff Leadership and Supervision
Responsibilities include:
  • Recruiting and onboarding new employees.
  • Providing training and continuous coaching to team members.
  • Preparing staff duty schedules and shift rotations.
  • Monitoring employee attendance and performance.
  • Conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Promoting teamwork and maintaining a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensuring staff comply with company policies and operational procedures.
  • Motivating employees to achieve high customer satisfaction levels.

Inventory and Supplier Management
The Venue Manager will:
  • Monitor stock levels for food, beverages, and operational supplies.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Minimize stock losses through effective inventory management.
  • Ensure timely ordering of supplies to prevent shortages.
  • Verify deliveries and maintain accurate stock records.

Financial Management
Key financial responsibilities include:
  • Supervising cash handling procedures.
  • Monitoring daily sales reports.
  • Assisting in budgeting and expense control.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary operating costs.
  • Supporting profitability through effective operational planning.
  • Preparing operational reports for senior management.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators that measure business success.

Events Coordination
The successful candidate will:
  • Coordinate venue logistics for public and private events.
  • Work closely with event organizers to ensure successful execution.
  • Supervise staff during busy functions and special events.
  • Ensure venues are properly prepared before every event.
  • Monitor event quality and customer satisfaction.

Business Development
Although operational excellence remains the main priority, the Venue Manager will also support business growth by:
  • Building lasting relationships with customers.
  • Encouraging repeat business through excellent service.
  • Supporting promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives.
  • Identifying partnership opportunities with local businesses and organizations.
  • Suggesting innovative ideas that attract new customers.
  • Supporting audience development for entertainment and cultural events.

Working Relationships

The Venue Manager will work closely with the leadership team to ensure the venue operates efficiently and achieves its commercial and operational objectives.
The role involves regular communication with management regarding:

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, Hotel Management, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience managing a restaurant, bar, hotel, hospitality venue, or entertainment facility.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising teams.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
  • Good financial and administrative management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills

Candidates with the following will have an added advantage:
  • Experience coordinating entertainment or live events.
  • Knowledge of hospitality management systems.

  • Established networks within Kampala's hospitality or creative industries.
