SOCIAL IMPACT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY
The Social Impact Manager will lead Pebuu’s Social Impact function by designing, implementing, and managing programmes that generate measurable social value. The role focuses on financial inclusion, economic empowerment, community development, and sustainability by leveraging the company’s operations, partnerships, and funding opportunities to deliver meaningful community outcomes.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Social Impact Manager will develop and implement social impact strategies, manage partnerships, lead grant fundraising efforts, oversee programme execution, and ensure effective monitoring and reporting of social outcomes aligned with Pebuu’s strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Impact Strategy & Programme Development
  • Develop and implement Pebuu’s Social Impact Strategy aligned with organizational goals
  • Identify opportunities to generate and measure social value from operations
  • Design programmes promoting financial inclusion, financial literacy, youth and women empowerment, and sustainability
  • Develop annual work plans, budgets, and impact targets for social initiatives

Programme Implementation & Management
  • Lead implementation of social impact programmes across operational areas
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure effective programme delivery
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks to track outcomes
  • Prepare impact reports, dashboards, and performance updates

Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop and manage partnerships with NGOs, donors, financial institutions, and government agencies
  • Build collaborative initiatives that create shared value
  • Represent Pebuu in conferences, forums, and stakeholder engagements

Grant Fundraising & Resource Mobilization
  • Identify funding opportunities from donors, foundations, and development partners
  • Prepare grant proposals, concept notes, and funding applications
  • Manage donor relationships and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
  • Develop long-term funding strategies for sustainability

Communications & Impact Reporting
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams to document impact
  • Develop impact stories, newsletters, publications, and case studies
  • Lead awareness campaigns and financial literacy communication initiatives
  • Prepare annual Social Impact and Sustainability Reports

Innovation & Sustainability
  • Integrate social impact into core business operations
  • Promote environmental sustainability and responsible business practices
  • Lead initiatives such as tree planting and community sustainability programmes
  • Track ESG trends and best practices in social development

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in social impact, CSR, sustainability, development programmes, or grant management
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or management role
  • Experience in partnership management and donor engagement
  • Strong knowledge of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), ESG reporting, and impact measurement
  • Experience in fintech, financial inclusion, or agency banking is an added advantage
