FIDO is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Partnerships Manager to lead partnership strategy, develop strategic alliances, and accelerate business growth in Uganda.
Job Summary
The Senior Partnerships Manager will be responsible for developing and executing FIDO’s partnership strategy in Uganda by identifying, negotiating, and managing high-impact partnerships that drive customer acquisition, product adoption, loan growth, and revenue expansion.
The successful candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, fintech companies, mobile network operators, merchants, regulators, and other strategic stakeholders.
This role requires a strong understanding of Uganda’s financial services ecosystem, excellent commercial negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex partnerships in a fast-growing fintech environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy & Business Development
  • Develop and implement FIDO’s partnership strategy in Uganda.
  • Identify strategic partnership opportunities that support business growth.
  • Build partnerships that increase product distribution and customer reach.
  • Develop a strong pipeline of potential partners across financial services, telecommunications, retail, and technology sectors.
  • Evaluate partnership opportunities based on commercial value and strategic alignment.
  • Lead business negotiations and partnership discussions.
  • Manage contract development and execution processes.
  • Identify opportunities to increase loan disbursements and market penetration.
Partnership Management
  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with strategic partners.
  • Act as the main relationship manager for key partnership accounts.
  • Monitor partnership performance against agreed objectives and KPIs.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to maximise partnership value.
  • Ensure partners receive continuous support and engagement.
  • Resolve partnership challenges and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
Product & Commercial Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, Risk, Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Support the launch and growth of partnership-driven financial products.
  • Collect partner and customer insights to improve products and services.
  • Identify new opportunities for product expansion through strategic channels.
  • Support customer acquisition initiatives through partnerships.
Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy
  • Monitor fintech, banking, digital payments, and financial services trends.
  • Analyse competitor activities and market developments.
  • Identify emerging partnership opportunities.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support business decisions.
  • Track customer behaviour and industry changes.
Stakeholder & Operational Management
  • Represent FIDO in strategic meetings, industry events, and networking engagements.
  • Represent the Managing Director when required.
  • Provide updates on partnership progress and business opportunities.
  • Coordinate internal teams to ensure successful execution of partnership initiatives.
  • Ensure partnerships comply with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree or professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in:

  • Proven experience developing strategic partnerships that deliver measurable business growth.
  • Strong experience in commercial negotiations and contract management.
  • Deep understanding of Uganda’s financial services and fintech ecosystem.
