Job Summary

Women First Digital is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to lead data analysis, reporting, data management, and business intelligence initiatives across the organisation.
The successful candidate will extract, analyse, and interpret data from multiple sources to generate actionable insights that support strategic planning, product improvement, donor reporting, and organisational decision-making.
The Senior Data Analyst will manage and continuously improve WFD’s centralised data ecosystem, including data repositories, dashboards, reporting systems, and analytics infrastructure.
This fully remote role requires a highly analytical professional with strong technical skills in SQL, Python, data visualisation, reporting, and cloud-based data systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Management & Analytics Infrastructure
  • Manage and continuously improve Women First Digital’s centralised data ecosystem.
  • Maintain data repositories, documentation systems, Google BigQuery datasets, and analytics platforms.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, accessibility, and scalability across organisational systems.
  • Integrate new data sources as digital platforms and reporting requirements evolve.
  • Develop processes that improve data governance and organisational data management.
2. Dashboard Development & Reporting
  • Build, maintain, and optimise dashboards and reporting systems.
  • Develop data visualisations that support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Improve accessibility of data insights across different teams.
  • Monitor reporting performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support teams with accurate and timely analytical reports.
3. Data Analysis & Strategic Insights
  • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and gaps.
  • Translate data findings into practical recommendations for leadership.
  • Conduct analysis on user journeys, digital platform performance, and organisational impact.
  • Support strategic planning through evidence-based insights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve digital products and user experiences.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Digital Operations, Partnerships, Digital Marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Support teams in strengthening data collection and reporting processes.
  • Improve organisational learning through data-driven approaches.
  • Provide technical guidance on analytics, reporting, and data interpretation.
5. Donor Reporting & Impact Measurement
  • Analyse organisational data to support donor reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks.
  • Develop reports that demonstrate programme impact and organisational performance.
  • Support evidence-based decision-making for funded programmes.
6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive improvements in data analytics, automation, and reporting processes.
  • Promote data literacy across the organisation.
  • Explore new approaches to data management and visualisation.
  • Support innovation through improved analytics solutions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Applicants should have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, reporting, data management, and visualisation.
  • Strong experience extracting, transforming, and analysing data from multiple sources.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills including:
    • PivotTables.
    • Advanced formulas.
    • Power Query.
    • Data connectors.
    • Data importing and integration.
  • Strong SQL skills including:
    • Query writing.
    • Joins.
    • Common Table Expressions (CTEs).
    • Window functions.
    • Aggregations.
    • Query optimisation.
    • Data manipulation.
  • Experience using Python for data analysis and automation, including:
    • Pandas.
    • NumPy.
    • API integration.
    • Data cleaning.
    • ETL development.
  • Experience with Google BigQuery or cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Experience creating dashboards using Google Looker Studio or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and digital analytics concepts.
  • Experience integrating and managing multiple data sources.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex data findings clearly.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.

Additional Advantageous Skills

Candidates with the following experience will have an added advantage:
  • Experience supporting donor reporting.
  • Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and JSON data.
  • Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, digital health, or social impact organisations.
  • Knowledge of French or Spanish.

Cloud Data Systems
Knowledge of cloud-based analytics platforms such as Google BigQuery.
Data Storytelling
Ability to present analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
