HR Graduate Trainee – Job Description

Job Overview
BondRich Advisory Group is seeking a motivated and ambitious HR Graduate Trainee to join its Human Resources team in Kampala, Uganda. This internship opportunity is designed for recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in human resource management, recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, performance management, and HR consulting services.
The successful candidate will support the HR team in delivering professional advisory and administrative services to internal operations and external clients while developing essential skills required for a successful career in Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Support
  • Support the complete recruitment process from job posting to candidate selection.
  • Assist in drafting and publishing job advertisements.
  • Screen CVs and shortlist suitable candidates based on job requirements.
  • Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Support reference checks and recruitment documentation.
  • Maintain recruitment records and applicant tracking systems.
HR Administration and Documentation
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining employee records and HR files.
  • Support preparation of employment contracts, HR forms, and employee documentation.
  • Ensure HR records are updated accurately and maintained confidentially.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with company policies and labour regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to HR operations.
Employee Onboarding and Engagement
  • Support onboarding and induction processes for new employees.
  • Assist new staff members in understanding company procedures and policies.
  • Support employee engagement activities and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Assist in organizing staff meetings, workshops, and HR events.
  • Collect feedback to improve employee experience.
Performance Management Support
  • Assist in coordinating employee performance review processes.
  • Support preparation of performance management documentation.
  • Maintain performance records and reports.
  • Assist HR consultants in developing employee development initiatives.
HR Research and Advisory Support
  • Conduct research on HR trends, labour laws, and best practices.
  • Support preparation of HR reports, presentations, and client proposals.
  • Assist consultants in delivering HR advisory services.
  • Prepare information and materials for client meetings and presentations.
HR Systems and Reporting
  • Maintain and update HR databases and employee information systems.
  • Support data entry and HR reporting activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of employee information.
  • Assist with preparation of HR analytics and workforce reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Human Resource Management
    • Industrial and Organizational Psychology
    • Business Administration
    • Management Studies
    • Related fields
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous internship, volunteer experience, or attachment in HR or administration is an added advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Understanding of basic human resource management principles.
  • Knowledge of labour laws and HR compliance practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) is an added advantage.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong professional ethics.
