Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager will partner with senior business leaders to develop and implement people strategies that align with organizational goals. The successful candidate will oversee talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, succession planning, workforce planning, learning and development, HR compliance, and organizational culture while ensuring compliance with labour laws and HR best practices.
The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to leverage HR data and technology to improve workforce performance and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Human Resource Management
  • Partner with senior management to align HR strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support organizational growth through effective workforce planning.
  • Advise leadership on people-related strategies and organizational development.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Lead recruitment and selection activities to attract top talent.
  • Manage onboarding and employee orientation programmes.
  • Develop succession planning strategies for key positions.
  • Identify future staffing needs and workforce requirements.
Performance Management
  • Implement and manage employee performance management systems.
  • Coordinate performance appraisals and development reviews.

Learning & Employee Development
  • Identify employee training and development needs.
  • Coordinate learning programmes and career development initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with Ugandan labour laws and employment regulations.
  • Maintain HR policies and employee records.
  • Advise management on employment legislation and compliance matters.
  • Support disciplinary and grievance procedures.
HR Analytics & Reporting
  • Utilize HR data and analytics to support workforce planning.
  • Prepare HR reports and management dashboards.
  • Monitor key HR performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Recommend improvements based on workforce insights.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of HR Generalist experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an HR Business Partner role.
  • Professional certification such as CIPD or SHRM is an added advantage.
  • Experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
