Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons based on approved secondary school curricula.
• Teach assigned subjects effectively using modern teaching approaches and learning resources.
• Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and learning activities.
• Apply innovative teaching strategies that promote student participation and understanding.
• Integrate educational technology and digital learning tools into classroom instruction.

• Prepare students for internal, national, and international examinations.
• Develop and administer tests, assignments, projects, and continuous assessments.
• Monitor student academic progress and provide timely feedback.
• Analyze student performance and implement improvement strategies.
• Support learners in achieving strong academic outcomes.

• Provide academic guidance and career advice to secondary students.
• Support students in developing effective study habits and learning skills.
• Identify students’ academic challenges and provide appropriate support.
• Encourage critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and independent learning.
• Promote positive behavior, discipline, and character development.

• Participate in school clubs, academic activities, sports, and enrichment programs.
• Support students’ talents, interests, and leadership development.
• Encourage teamwork, innovation, and community involvement.
• Contribute to school events and educational programs.

• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Apply effective classroom management techniques.
• Promote positive relationships among students.
• Maintain accurate student records including attendance and academic progress.
• Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and school leadership.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Education, or
  • A specialized academic subject with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
• Proven experience teaching within a secondary school curriculum.
• Experience preparing students for national or international examinations is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of modern teaching methodologies and assessment practices.
