About National Anti-Doping Organisation – Uganda (NADO-U)

The National Anti-Doping Organisation – Uganda (NADO-U) is an independent body established under the National Sports Act, 2023, as amended. NADO-U is mandated to promote clean sport, protect athletes, and uphold the integrity of sport in Uganda.

The organisation invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandan citizens for 15 Educator positions to support anti-doping education, awareness, and advocacy activities across Uganda's sporting community.

Job Purpose

The Educator will support the delivery of anti-doping education and awareness programmes for athletes, coaches, support personnel, and other sports stakeholders.

The role involves promoting awareness of the dangers of doping, ethical conduct in sport, fair play, and compliance with applicable anti-doping regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Plan and conduct anti-doping education and awareness programmes across different sports disciplines.
  • Deliver educational sessions to athletes, coaches, support personnel, and other relevant sports stakeholders.
  • Support the development of educational content for e-learning platforms and anti-doping outreach campaigns.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, learning materials, and awareness resources.
  • Promote anti-doping values, ethical behaviour, integrity, and the principles of fair play.
  • Support communication and advocacy initiatives aimed at promoting a clean sport culture.
  • Participate in anti-doping outreach activities, workshops, seminars, and sporting events.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of education and awareness programmes.
  • Collect relevant feedback from programme participants and support the preparation of education activity reports.
  • Work closely with the Education Officer and other NADO-U teams to coordinate education activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of education sessions, participants, activities, and programme outcomes.
  • Support other anti-doping education initiatives as assigned by the organisation.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should possess an Honours Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields from a recognised institution:
 
  • Education, particularly Sports or Physical Education
  • Sports Science
  • Public Health
  • Curriculum Development

Additional Experience and Requirements
 
Practical experience in anti-doping programmes is an added advantage.
 
Experience as an athlete is also an added advantage.
 
Candidates should ideally demonstrate an understanding of:
 
  • Anti-doping principles and clean sport.
  • Sports ethics and fair play.
  • Athlete education and engagement.
  • Public awareness and community outreach.
  • Training and facilitation techniques.
  • Communication and advocacy activities.

Working Environment

The Educator position is primarily field-based and may require travel to sporting events, training facilities, schools, sports organisations, and other locations where anti-doping education and awareness activities are conducted.

As the position is offered on an on-need basis, successful candidates should be flexible and available to undertake assignments according to NADO-U's operational requirements.

Salary and Benefits

The position is offered on an on-need basis, with a facilitation allowance provided upon completion of the assignment.

Specific facilitation arrangements will be determined by NADO-U in accordance with the applicable assignment and organisational guidelines.
