KCB Bank Uganda – Reconciliation Officer / Operations Role (Job Opportunity)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review and reconcile card transactions, chargebacks, digital banking, nostro, clearing, intercompany, and other suspense accounts on a daily basis.
  • Ensure suspense items are resolved within set timelines and do not exceed allowed aging limits.
  • Monitor outstanding entries and liaise with relevant parties to ensure timely and accurate reconciliation.
  • Process settlements and ensure prompt reversal of exception transactions.
  • Support branches in resolving ATM-related acquisition and settlement queries.
  • Prepare and submit daily reconciliation reports and weekly aging analysis to the Unit Manager.
  • Participate in reviewing reconciliation processes, controls, and procedures to identify improvements.
  • Support automation initiatives to improve reconciliation efficiency and control environment.
  • Prepare end-month reports and support Finance and other stakeholders.
  • Identify, monitor, and report operational risks within the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Academic & Professional
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or any quantitative/mathematical-related field.
  • Professional qualification in Accounting (added advantage).
  • Master’s Degree in a business-related field (added advantage).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 3 years total experience in banking operations.
  • At least 2 years in general banking operations (essential).
  • At least 1 year experience in reconciliation (desirable).

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Knowledge of banking operations and reconciliation processes
  • Risk identification and control mindset
  • Ability to work with deadlines and high-volume transactions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with banking systems and automation tools (advantage)
