JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager – ILST is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing project execution, logistics, operations, procurement, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful delivery of projects within scope, budget, and timelines while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and contractual requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager will oversee end-to-end project execution including planning, logistics coordination, procurement management, operations monitoring, financial control, and stakeholder communication to ensure smooth delivery of ILST operations across multiple locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies
  • Manage team performance, timesheets, and project timelines
  • Ensure project completion within approved scope, time, and budget
Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Coordinate meetings with clients, operations teams, and supply chain stakeholders
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and delays to stakeholders
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
Procurement & Supply Chain Management
  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules
  • Ensure availability of materials for timely project execution
Operations Management (Mombasa & Regional Logistics)
  • Monitor and track operations in Mombasa and related logistics hubs
  • Ensure truck and transport availability aligns with operational demand
  • Coordinate communication between port, border, and inland operations
  • Conduct daily operational meetings and performance tracking
  • Ensure KPI compliance across all logistics activities
  • Supervise control tower operations
Risk, Compliance & Quality Management
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Enforce HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards
  • Conduct risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with company standards
  • Coordinate with QHSE department on site safety objectives
Finance & Commercial Management
  • Validate invoices and ensure contractual compliance
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and margins
  • Prepare commercial offers for ILST traffic
  • Support business development and revenue growth
  • Provide financial reporting and operational visibility
Emergency & Coordination Duties
  • Act as part of the emergency response team when required
  • Ensure operational continuity during incidents or disruptions
  • Oversee project closeout and ensure complete documentation

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or large-scale project management
  • Experience in port operations, transport coordination, or international logistics is an added advantage
  • Strong understanding of procurement and operational management systems
