Job Summary

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for designing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring FH programmes within assigned Area Programs in Lamwo and Kitgum.
The successful candidate will provide technical support, strengthen community capacity, mentor programme staff, manage stakeholders, and ensure that all interventions align with FH’s mission, values, and development objectives.
The role requires a strong leader with experience in humanitarian and development programming, project management, financial management, and community-based approaches.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Development and Management

  • Support the design and implementation of FH programmes and projects.
  • Ensure programme activities align with FH mission, values, and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate multi-sectoral interventions including:
    • Child Engagement and Sponsorship
    • Productive Learning and Education
    • Asset Creation and Livelihoods
    • Physical Health and Mental Wellbeing
  • Provide technical guidance to programme teams.
  • Develop work plans and support effective programme delivery.
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards and achieve intended outcomes.
  • Identify programme challenges and develop appropriate solutions.

2. Community Capacity Building

  • Strengthen community participation and ownership of development initiatives.
  • Build capacity of community groups and local structures.
  • Support communities to develop sustainable solutions.
  • Promote resilience among vulnerable populations.
  • Encourage community-led approaches to development.

3. Team and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Mentor and support Program Assistants.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to programme teams.
  • Coordinate with:
    • Local government authorities
    • Community leaders
    • Development partners
    • Community-based organizations
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ensure smooth implementation of programme activities.

4. Financial Management

  • Support preparation and management of programme budgets.
  • Monitor programme expenditures and financial compliance.
  • Ensure resources are used effectively and responsibly.
  • Work with finance teams to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain accountability for programme resources.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation, Reflection and Learning (MERL)

  • Support monitoring and evaluation of FH programmes.
  • Collect, analyze, and use programme data for improvement.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices.
  • Participate in programme reviews and reflection sessions.
  • Ensure reporting requirements are met.
  • Promote evidence-based decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as:
    • Social Sciences
    • Development Studies
    • Agriculture
    • Public Health
    • Community Development
    • Related discipline
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management is an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in programme management within:
    • Humanitarian organizations
    • Development sector
    • Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
Experience managing multi-sector programmes involving:
  • Child engagement/sponsorship programmes
  • Livelihood and asset creation projects
  • Education programmes
  • Health and wellbeing interventions
