Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW
The Packaging Process Artisan is responsible for maintaining, repairing and optimizing packaging plant, machinery and associated equipment to ensure high plant availability, consistent product quality and efficient production at minimum cost while maintaining required safety and operational standards.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain, repair and optimize plant, packaging machinery and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost.
- Locate plant, equipment, spare parts and relevant technical documentation or systems required for maintenance activities.
- Carry out repairs, routine maintenance and major maintenance activities as required.
- Continuously improve and optimize plant, process equipment and operational systems.
- Safely operate packaging plant and process equipment.
- Identify existing or potential equipment problems through plant walkabouts, inspections and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Safely operate packaging machines while monitoring and controlling the process to produce consistent products of the required quality at optimum cost.
- Perform machine start-up and shutdown procedures safely and efficiently.
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and accurately complete required maintenance and production documentation.
- Ensure packaging machines and associated equipment remain in good working condition.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
- Apply VPO Principles and Practices in daily operations.
- Maintain 5S standards at the workstation and assigned production area.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2–3 months of on-the-job training.
- Ideal 3–6 months of on-the-job training.
- 1–2 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Practical knowledge of industrial machinery, packaging equipment and basic maintenance is an added advantage.

- Equipment fault identification and problem-solving.
- Plant and process optimization.

- Teamwork and communication.
- 5S and continuous improvement practices.
