• Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy working environment at all times.
• Adhere to PPE requirements and all VPO safety standards.
• Conduct safety inspections and identify/report unsafe conditions.
• Ensure compliance with housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Support staff medical compliance requirements.

• Operate manual and automated packaging machines according to production standards.
• Interpret and implement shift production plans effectively.
• Monitor packaging processes and correct any performance deviations.
• Manage process areas according to VPO principles and standards.
• Conduct autonomous operations within assigned production areas.

• Carry out required quality checks and record results accurately.
• Monitor product quality and react to deviations using VPO tools.
• Identify defective equipment and report issues to Process Artisans or Team Leaders.
• Support root cause analysis using tools such as 5 WHYs and QFRs.
• Contribute to AB reports and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Track production performance, waste, and machine downtime.
• Record product movement and operational data accurately.
• Analyze production trends to identify and resolve recurring issues.
• Complete operator workstation and team room documentation.

• Participate actively in shift meetings and contribute ideas for improvement.
• Communicate production issues through shift logbooks and handover reports.
• Ensure smooth shift transitions by providing accurate handover information.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve operational challenges.

• Assist Process Artisans and Machine Specialists with running repairs.
• Report equipment faults and support corrective maintenance activities.
• Help maintain optimal machine performance during operations.

• Use VPO problem-solving tools to address operational issues.
• Contribute to achieving team performance targets and production goals.
• Support implementation of efficiency and productivity improvements.

• Post Matric qualification (e.g. N4 or equivalent).
• National Diploma or equivalent qualification (Mechanical/Electrical or related field preferred).
• Experience in FMCG packaging environment.
• Completion of SKAP within 12 months (advantage).
• Ability and willingness to work shifts.
