Hariss International is seeking a qualified Maintenance Planner – Plastic to support the Engineering & Maintenance Department by developing maintenance schedules, coordinating repair activities, managing resources, and improving equipment reliability within the plastic manufacturing operations.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner – Plastic will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring maintenance activities for plastic production facilities, machinery, and equipment. The role focuses on preventive maintenance planning, equipment availability, spare parts management, technical support, and ensuring maintenance activities meet safety, quality, and operational standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to reduce equipment downtime and improve plant efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning and Coordination
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor maintenance schedules and plans.
  • Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Track maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production departments.
  • Ensure maintenance operations align with company objectives and production requirements.
Preventive Maintenance Management
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for plastic manufacturing equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvement measures.
  • Identify potential equipment failures and plan corrective actions.
  • Improve maintenance processes to increase machine reliability.
  • Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
Equipment and Plant Maintenance Support
  • Support maintenance operations for industrial machines and facilities.
  • Ensure proper functioning and safety of production installations.
  • Coordinate equipment restart after repairs, replacements, or modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Company safety standards
    • Legal requirements
    • Equipment reliability standards
Technical Problem Solving
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel.
  • Assist in resolving mechanical and operational challenges.
  • Support troubleshooting of:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Industrial equipment
Spare Parts and Resource Management
  • Monitor spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Recommend appropriate spare parts stock levels.
  • Manage maintenance tools and safety equipment.
  • Coordinate ordering of required tools and resources.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of maintenance materials.
Maintenance Documentation and Reporting
  • Manage maintenance records including:
    • Work orders
    • Repair history
    • Time records
    • Material usage
    • Project information
  • Prepare maintenance progress reports using plant maintenance software.
  • Maintain accurate equipment and maintenance documentation.
  • Support analysis of maintenance performance indicators.
Continuous Improvement
  • Keep updated with developments in engineering and maintenance practices.
  • Recommend improvements to plant maintenance processes.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving productivity and reducing downtime.

Qualifications and Requirements

Academic Qualifications
Applicants should have:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or
  • A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Professional Experience
Candidates should have:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance management or engineering maintenance roles.
  • At least 3–4 years hands-on experience in a similar maintenance planning role.
  • Experience in plastic manufacturing, food manufacturing, beverage production, or industrial plants is highly advantageous.
