Lifting Coordinator – Mota-Engil

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all lifting activities in accordance with approved lifting plans.
• Ensure safe execution of lifting operations while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
• Prepare, review, and update lifting plans and load schematics.
• Dimension lifting accessories including:
  • Shackles
  • Chains
  • Beams
  • Other lifting equipment
• Create and update load diagrams using AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Calculate loads accurately and interpret lifting diagrams to support safe operations.
• Ensure proper selection and use of lifting equipment and accessories.

• Ensure only registered and authorized crane operators, certified riggers, and signalers participate in lifting operations.
• Verify that ground conditions are safe and suitable for crane operations.
• Ensure crane operators conduct daily equipment inspections before work begins.
• Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all lifting activities follow approved safety procedures.
• Conduct lifting risk assessments and implement necessary control measures.
• Ensure compliance with company SHEQ policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

• Brief crane operators, riggers, and signalmen on safe lifting procedures.
• Supervise lifting teams and ensure adherence to operational standards.
• Attend daily toolbox meetings to support effective communication and coordination.
• Promote teamwork, safety awareness, and continuous improvement among lifting personnel.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, supervisors, and regulatory authorities.

• Validate lifting equipment certificates and inspection records.
• Ensure lifting machines undergo scheduled maintenance inspections.
• Maintain accurate lifting operation documentation.
• Monitor compliance with lifting equipment standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Related Engineering field
• Lifting Supervisor Safety Course certification or equivalent is mandatory.
• Appointed Person for Lifting Operations (APLO) certification as required by applicable regulations.
• Recognized Rigging and Signalman certification.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in:
  • Oil and gas industry
