UNFPA Uganda is seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to serve as the International Operations Manager, supporting effective operations management and ensuring efficient delivery of the country programme.

Job Summary – International Operations Manager

The International Operations Manager (IOM) provides strategic leadership and oversight for UNFPA Uganda’s operational functions, ensuring efficiency, transparency, compliance, and effective resource management.
The position leads a broad portfolio covering:
  • Financial management
  • Procurement services
  • Logistics and travel management
  • Information and communication technology (ICT)
  • Human resources administration
  • Security and safety coordination
  • Common services with other UN agencies
Working under the guidance of the UNFPA Representative, the International Operations Manager ensures that operational systems support programme delivery while maintaining compliance with UN policies, procedures, and international standards.
The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, partnership management, and the ability to manage complex operations in a multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities of the International Operations Manager

1. Strategic Operations Leadership
The International Operations Manager will:
  • Support effective implementation of the UNFPA country programme through efficient operational planning.
  • Ensure country office operations comply with UNFPA policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Develop and monitor operational targets to improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen knowledge management systems within the organization.

2. Financial Management and Control
