Job Summary

The HR Business Partner will provide strategic and operational human resource leadership to support business growth, employee engagement, talent development, and organisational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will partner with business leaders and managers to implement HR strategies that attract, develop, motivate, and retain talent while strengthening performance management, employee relations, leadership capability, and workplace culture.
The role will ensure effective delivery of HR programmes aligned with Diageo’s global people strategy, company policies, employment laws, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Management and Workforce Planning
  • Lead talent attraction and acquisition strategies to ensure availability of skilled employees.
  • Support workforce planning by identifying current and future business staffing needs.
  • Coordinate talent reviews and succession planning processes.
  • Develop strategies to retain high-performing employees and reduce employee turnover.
  • Support onboarding and integration of new employees into the organisation.
2. Performance Management
  • Drive effective performance management processes across business functions.
  • Support managers in setting employee goals and performance expectations.
  • Monitor performance reviews and ensure completion within required timelines.
  • Provide guidance on Performance Development Plans (PDPs).
  • Support employees and managers in improving performance outcomes.
3. HR Business Partnership and Advisory
  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and senior leaders.
  • Support decision-making on employee matters, policies, and workplace challenges.
  • Advise managers on employment practices, employee relations, and organisational changes.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across different departments.
4. Organisational Culture and Employee Engagement
  • Support initiatives that promote an inclusive, values-driven workplace culture.
  • Develop employee engagement strategies to improve workplace satisfaction.
  • Analyse employee engagement survey results and support implementation of improvement actions.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Support organisational effectiveness programmes.
5. Learning and Development
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify employee development requirements.
  • Coordinate learning and development programmes.
  • Support leadership development and capability-building initiatives.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and employee growth.
  • Support career development initiatives.
6. Employee Relations and Labour Compliance
  • Manage employee relations matters in line with company policies and labour laws.
  • Provide guidance on disciplinary procedures and grievance handling.
  • Conduct investigations and support resolution of workplace issues.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of employment policies.
  • Support restructuring and organisational change processes.
7. Compensation and Benefits Management
  • Support implementation of employee reward and benefits programmes.
  • Ensure fair remuneration practices during promotions and appointments.
  • Support management of incentive schemes and employee benefits.
  • Provide guidance on compensation-related matters.
8. HR Reporting and Analytics
  • Prepare HR reports and dashboards for leadership decision-making.
  • Monitor workforce metrics including:
    • Employee headcount
    • Diversity and inclusion indicators
    • Gender representation
    • Employee turnover
    • Leave liability
    • Workforce trends
  • Provide HR insights to improve business performance.
9. Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Maintain accurate employee records within HR systems.
  • Ensure timely updates of employee information.
  • Support HR data accuracy and compliance requirements.
  • Generate HR reports from HR information systems.
10. Change Management and HR Strategy Implementation
  • Support organisational transformation initiatives.
  • Implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage HR projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Support effective communication during organisational changes.

Qualifications and Requirements

Academic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Management, or related discipline is an added advantage.
  • Professional HR certifications are an added advantage.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Human Resources management.
  • Strong exposure across different HR functions.
  • Experience working as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist.
  • Experience supporting senior managers and business leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing organisational change.
  • Experience managing employee relations and HR projects.
