Job Summary

Role Overview

• Providing maternal and newborn healthcare.
• Supporting patient consultations.
• Monitoring patient conditions.
• Administering prescribed treatments.
• Maintaining proper clinical standards.
• Supporting hygiene, sanitation, and medical inventory management.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide antenatal care services to expectant mothers.
• Support intrapartum care and delivery-related procedures.
• Provide postnatal care services to mothers and newborns.
• Offer routine nursing care to patients.
• Monitor patient progress and provide appropriate support.
• Educate patients on maternal health, newborn care, and preventive healthcare practices.

• Assist with basic diagnostic procedures.
• Record and monitor patient vital signs.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Support patient consultations and clinical assessments.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Identify and report changes in patient conditions.

• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards within the clinic.
• Support proper management of medical supplies and equipment.
• Monitor medical inventory and report shortages.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and clinic guidelines.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

• Certificate in Midwifery or recognised Nursing qualification.

• Valid registration with the relevant national Nursing and Midwifery Council in Uganda.

• Female candidates preferred.

• At least 1 year of relevant nursing or midwifery experience.
