Shalom Medical Center is seeking a qualified and experienced Gynaecologist to join its team as a Business Partner/Consultant. The successful candidate will provide specialized women's healthcare services, including diagnosis and treatment of gynecological conditions, reproductive healthcare, preventive screening, and patient education while utilizing the medical centre as a consultation facility.
Job Summary
The Gynaecologist will provide comprehensive women's healthcare services through outpatient consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and management of gynecological conditions. The role involves offering reproductive healthcare, family planning services, preventive screenings, patient counselling, and referrals where necessary.
The successful candidate will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Women's Healthcare Services
  • Conduct comprehensive gynecological consultations and examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of gynecological disorders.
  • Provide specialized reproductive healthcare services.
  • Deliver family planning counselling and services.
  • Support preventive healthcare initiatives for women.
Clinical Assessment and Treatment
  • Develop appropriate treatment plans for patients.
  • Prescribe medications based on clinical assessments.

  • Refer patients for specialized investigations or advanced treatment where necessary.

Preventive Healthcare and Patient Education

  • Provide counselling on fertility, pregnancy planning, menopause, and other women's health issues.
  • Promote preventive healthcare services and early disease detection.
Medical Records and Documentation
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient records.
  • Ensure proper documentation of consultations, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Comply with medical documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration and Professional Practice
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of patient care.

Required Qualifications and Skills
Must Have
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS)
Applicants must possess a recognized Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) degree or an equivalent medical qualification.
Postgraduate Qualification in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Candidates must possess a recognized postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Valid Practicing Licence
Applicants must hold a valid practicing licence issued by the relevant medical regulatory authority.
Registration with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC)
Candidates must be fully registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC).
Active Clinical Practice
Applicants should be actively practicing as a qualified Gynaecologist with experience managing women's health conditions.
