Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the daily operations of the Effluent Treatment Plant.
• Monitor aerobic and anaerobic wastewater treatment processes.
• Ensure treated wastewater meets legal and environmental standards.
• Identify operational challenges and implement corrective actions.
• Provide daily guidance and technical support to ETP personnel.
• Ensure smooth and continuous operation of the treatment plant.

• Manage wastewater sampling, sample preparation, testing, and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with established sampling and testing procedures.
• Monitor laboratory activities and ensure accurate testing results.
• Analyze test results and guide the team on required corrective actions.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration.
• Develop and update testing methods to improve accuracy and reliability.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for ETP equipment.
• Ensure equipment operates according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Monitor equipment performance and conduct troubleshooting when problems occur.
• Maintain operational records for machinery, instruments, and processes.
• Ensure availability of consumables, spare parts, and operational materials.

• Provide technical training to ETP staff on:
  • Laboratory procedures
  • Equipment operation
  • Safety practices
  • Wastewater treatment processes
• Provide daily instructions and supervision to quality control staff.
• Develop competency programs for ETP personnel.
• Ensure employees follow company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

• Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
• Keep updated with environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
• Implement corrective actions for environmental risks.
• Promote occupational health and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness and good housekeeping standards.

• Prepare daily ETP performance reports for management.
• Report operational deviations and abnormalities immediately.
• Support external and third-party audits.
• Evaluate audit findings and implement corrective measures.
• Maintain records required for ISO 17025 compliance.
• Investigate non-conforming results and customer complaints.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience working with Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP).
• Experience managing both aerobic and anaerobic wastewater treatment systems.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
• Understanding of aerobic and anaerobic ETP operations.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and analytical techniques.
• Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ETP equipment.

• Understanding of ISO 17025 laboratory requirements.
• Knowledge of environmental compliance standards.
• Ability to implement quality management systems.
• Experience supporting environmental and quality audits.

• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to prepare technical reports.
• Ability to maintain operational records and documentation.
