Job Summary

Jambojet is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Country Manager – Uganda to lead the airline’s growth and operations in the Ugandan market.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, growing, and protecting Jambojet’s business presence in Uganda by driving commercial performance, route development, passenger revenue growth, cargo sales, strategic partnerships, customer experience, and stakeholder engagement.
As the company’s principal representative in Uganda, the Country Manager will oversee coordination between Jambojet’s internal teams, airport authorities, regulators, service providers, corporate clients, travel partners, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful operations of the Entebbe route.
This is a senior aviation leadership opportunity for a professional with strong experience in airline commercial operations, business development, sales leadership, market expansion, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial Strategy and Route Performance
  • Develop and execute Jambojet’s Uganda commercial strategy.
  • Drive passenger revenue, ancillary income, market share, load factor, and profitability targets.
  • Monitor route performance and identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Develop strategies to improve competitiveness within Uganda’s aviation market.
2. Route Growth and Market Development
  • Lead initiatives to grow the Entebbe route and increase customer demand.
  • Identify new market opportunities and customer segments.
  • Develop strategies to strengthen Jambojet’s brand presence in Uganda.
  • Monitor aviation trends and recommend growth opportunities.
3. Revenue Growth, Cargo Sales and Business Development
  • Identify and develop new revenue opportunities including:
    • Passenger sales
    • Cargo business
    • Corporate travel partnerships
    • Travel agencies
    • Tour operators
    • Government institutions
    • NGOs and development organizations
  • Build strong commercial partnerships to increase market penetration.
  • Support sales initiatives that improve route profitability.
4. Corporate Relations and Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with:
    • Aviation regulators
    • Airport authorities
    • Tourism bodies
    • Government agencies
    • Embassies
    • Corporate organizations
    • Travel partners
    • Service providers
  • Represent Jambojet professionally in Uganda’s aviation and business community.
  • Protect the airline’s reputation and commercial interests.
5. Brand Activation and Marketing
  • Implement local sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Increase awareness of Jambojet’s services in Uganda.
  • Support promotional activities to stimulate passenger demand.
  • Develop initiatives that improve customer acquisition and loyalty.
6. Airport Operations and Customer Experience Coordination
  • Coordinate with:
    • Operations teams
    • Ground handling providers
    • Customer experience teams
    • Cargo departments
    • Revenue management teams
  • Ensure efficient passenger handling and airport operations.
  • Monitor service providers to maintain quality, safety, and operational standards.
  • Address customer service challenges and operational issues.
7. Financial Management and Reporting
  • Manage country budgets and operational resources.
  • Monitor expenses, cash collections, and financial controls.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with:
    • Aviation regulations
    • Company policies
    • Tax requirements
    • Corporate governance standards
  • Provide commercial, operational, and market intelligence reports to management.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Aviation and Commercial Knowledge
Applicants should have:
  • Strong understanding of airline commercial operations.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Airline sales management
    • Route economics
    • Customer relationship management

    • Passenger services
    • Cargo sales and handling
    • Aviation safety and security requirements
  • Understanding of low-cost airline business models.
  • Knowledge of East African aviation markets.
Experience with airline systems such as Navitaire, SkyPort, or SkySpeed is an added advantage.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in:
    • Country management
    • Business development
    • Sales leadership
    • Route development
    • Stakeholder management
Experience in Uganda or the wider East African aviation market is highly desirable.
