Job Summary
The Category Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies that improve product availability, customer experience, sales performance, and profitability. The successful candidate will manage product assortment, supplier relationships, pricing strategies, promotions, and category optimisation initiatives.
This role requires strong commercial skills, analytical thinking, negotiation abilities, and experience in retail, FMCG, e-commerce, or on-demand delivery environments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement category management strategies to improve customer experience.
  • Manage product assortment planning and optimisation.
  • Identify customer needs and ensure the right products are available.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to introduce new products and secure competitive margins.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and partnerships.
  • Ensure products remain available and properly stocked.
  • Define product categorisation and improve online shopping experiences.
  • Optimise product descriptions, content, and visibility.
  • Develop pricing and promotional strategies.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in FMCG, retail, e-commerce, or on-demand services.
  • Experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Purchasing, or related commercial roles.
  • Understanding of retail business operations and category management principles.
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing commercial relationships.
  • Experience in e-commerce is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
