Business Development Officer (BDO) – Bancassurance

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a results-driven and customer-focused Business Development Officer (BDO) – Bancassurance to drive insurance business growth through the bank’s branch network. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, strengthening customer relationships, supporting branch teams, and promoting suitable insurance solutions to customers.

Academic & Professional Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Insurance, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Professional insurance qualification such as ACII, CII, or Diploma in Insurance is an added advantage.

Experience

- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant professional experience, preferably in insurance, bancassurance, banking, sales, business development, or financial services.
- Experience in insurance sales, relationship management, or distribution channels will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive bancassurance sales and business development across the bank’s branch network.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase insurance revenue.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, branch teams, and institutional partners.
- Promote and explain appropriate insurance products and protection solutions to customers.
- Work closely with branch staff to identify potential insurance leads and convert them into business opportunities.
- Monitor sales performance and contribute to the achievement of business and revenue targets.
- Conduct customer presentations and provide clear information about insurance products and services.
- Maintain accurate sales records and prepare regular business development and performance reports.
- Support customer retention through excellent service and relationship management.
- Ensure all insurance sales activities comply with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and risk requirements.
- Identify market trends and customer needs to support the development and improvement of insurance distribution strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and business partners to strengthen the bancassurance channel.
