JOB PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Submit weekly quality reports to the Quality Assurance Manager to resolve work-related issues and review weekly quality performance.
• Supervise and coordinate quality activities of workers engaged in poultry feeds processing at the feed mill.
• Supervise and coordinate cleaning activities at the feed mill and waste collection areas to ensure product, facility, and environmental quality.
• Direct workers during quality assurance audits and inspections, including scheduling and sample submission for laboratory testing.
• Report results of verification activities and Food Safety Systems updates to the Quality Assurance Manager on a monthly basis.
• Monitor compliance with food safety, health, and safety regulations by staff, visitors, and contractors.
• Support quality assurance human resource objectives through staff orientation, training, scheduling, supervision, and enforcement of policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned under the company Food Safety Management Systems.
• Ensure proper Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices at all times and submit weekly EHS reports.
• Ensure good personnel hygiene and plant hygiene practices at the feed mill.
• Monitor analytical and performance trends from microbiology and analytical tests, including Boiler, NIR, and Farm audit reports.

EDUCATION

• Minimum of a Diploma in Food Science or Biochemistry.
• ISO Training and Food Safety Management certification/training required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance within an FMCG environment.
• Experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing.
• Experience enforcing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Ability to supervise and coordinate quality assurance activities.
• Strong data capture and reporting skills.

• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Monitor and control production processes to prevent contamination.
• Carry out hygiene checks at factory premises.
• Monitor critical control points and implement corrective actions where required.
• Conduct laboratory analysis for raw materials and finished products.
• Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends and improvement areas.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures and protocols.
• Participate in internal audits as per the annual audit plan.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements at all times.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Supervisor, Officer, and Manager to implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Investigate and address customer complaints and quality-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Train production teams on quality and safety procedures.

EDUCATION

• Minimum of a Degree or Diploma in Food Science and Technology or related field.
• Training in ISO audits and Food Safety/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance/Control, with at least 2 years in a busy broiler/feed processing plant.
• Experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing.
• Strong understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and poultry/feed processing regulations.
• Good verbal communication and training skills.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of company regulations and standards.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
