JOB VACANCY: FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS (FP&A) ANALYST

ABOUT THE ROLE
Kijani Forestry is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded FP&A professional to support financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making within a fast-growing, decentralized nature-based solutions business.
The role sits at the core of finance and operations, helping translate field operations into financial insights that guide leadership decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. FINANCIAL PLANNING & FORECASTING
  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes
  • Build integrated P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts
  • Develop driver-based financial models linking operations to financial outcomes
  • Support long-term strategic planning and scenario modelling
2. ANALYSIS & INSIGHT
  • Perform budget vs actual (BvA) analysis and explain variances
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities from financial and operational data
  • Translate complex data into clear insights for leadership
  • Support investment and scenario analysis
3. REPORTING
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports
  • Support board and investor reporting
  • Build dashboards and KPI reporting frameworks
  • Ensure consistency across financial reports
4. BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP
  • Work with operations, procurement, and field teams
  • Translate operational plans into financial impact
  • Challenge assumptions and improve financial discipline
  • Support cost planning (labour, logistics, materials)
5. FINANCIAL MODELLING & STRATEGY
  • Own and improve core financial models
  • Conduct scenario, sensitivity, and stress testing
  • Support capital planning and cash flow forecasting
  • Analyse scaling costs and efficiency drivers
6. PROCESS & SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT
  • Build FP&A systems and reporting frameworks from scratch
  • Improve automation using Excel, Google Sheets, Airtable, and Xero
  • Strengthen data quality and reporting consistency
  • Develop scalable processes for a high-growth environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 3–6 years’ experience in FP&A, management accounting, or corporate finance
  • Strong financial modelling skills (advanced Excel required)
  • Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

  • Strong analytical and structured thinking ability
  • Ability to work with imperfect and evolving data
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • High attention to detail and ownership mindset
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Startups or high-growth business environments
  • Agriculture, logistics, or operationally complex industries
  • Tools: Xero, Airtable, Power BI, Tableau, Google Sheets
  • Investor or board reporting experience
