RAINFOREST ALLIANCE UGANDA JOBS 2026 – SENIOR ASSOCIATE, FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION VACANCY (NGO FINANCE, ACCOUNTING & COMPLIANCE ROLE)

Rainforest Alliance is recruiting a highly organized and detail-oriented professional for the position of Senior Associate, Finance and Administration in Uganda. The role supports financial management, accounting operations, compliance, HR administration, procurement, and office support functions in alignment with global financial standards and donor requirements.

Reports to: Regional Accounting Manager – Africa
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Associate, Finance and Administration will work closely with global accounting, HR, and compliance teams to support financial operations, administrative processes, payroll, procurement, and compliance functions. The role ensures accurate financial recording, smooth administrative workflows, and adherence to organizational policies and donor regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
  • Support accounting activities and project financial management.
  • Review invoices, payments, vouchers, and receipts.
  • Process advance requests, staff expenses, and supplier payments.
  • Record daily financial transactions in accounting systems.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Conduct monthly bank and cash reconciliations.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure operational funding availability.
  • Assist in internal and external audits.
  • Support tax compliance including PAYE and withholding tax submissions.
  • Prepare monthly and annual tax returns and liaise with tax authorities (URA).
  • Track project expenditures against budgets and monitor financial performance.
  • Support budget development and annual planning processes.
2. PROCUREMENT, CONTRACTING & PROJECT SUPPORT
  • Support procurement and inventory management processes.
  • Manage small contracts including travel grants and non-donor agreements.
  • Support contracting of consultants and sub-grantees.
  • Train consultants and sub-grantees on financial reporting requirements.
  • Support logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events.
3. ADMINISTRATION & OFFICE SUPPORT
  • Manage office supplies and inventory.
  • Maintain organized administrative filing systems.
  • Support coordination of office operations and logistics.
  • Assist in sourcing service providers for insurance and employee benefits.
4. HR & PAYROLL SUPPORT
  • Support payroll preparation and implementation of global payroll systems.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
  • Support employee handbook contextualization.
  • Handle PAYE deductions and monthly submissions to URA.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Finance
    • Accounting
    • Business Administration
    • or related field
  • Professional qualification (ACCA or CPA) is required or an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in finance and/or administration.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems and financial compliance.
