JOB SUMMARY
FINCA Uganda Limited (MDI), a Microfinance Deposit-Taking Institution regulated by the Bank of Uganda and part of the FINCA Impact Finance Network, is recruiting an Accounts Relationship Officer. The role is responsible for promoting, selling, processing, monitoring, recording, and evaluating client loans, including Business Loans, Agricultural Loans, Personal Loans, Micro-Lending Loans, Self-Managed Groups, FINCA Easy Loans, and Micro Individual Loans. The officer will support branch operations across multiple locations in Uganda by driving loan growth, strengthening customer relationships, improving portfolio quality, and ensuring compliance with credit and lending policies.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing all FINCA Uganda products and services to potential clients and identifying new customers, markets, and opportunities while developing and implementing strategies for customer acquisition and retention in line with branch strategies, credit policy, and CRM standards. Growing deposits and loan portfolio value in the assigned branch in line with set targets. Appraising and preparing detailed loan applications in accordance with policy to assess creditworthiness and determine eligibility for credit facilities. Monitoring and evaluating loan performance and ensuring proper tracking of repayments. Following up on overdue loans and actively participating in loan recovery processes. Organizing client sensitization seminars and information dissemination sessions for existing and potential borrowers. Planning, reviewing, and monitoring strategies for loan growth, quality control, and timely submission of reports in line with FINCA Uganda lending policy and branch work plans.
 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in any business-related field from a recognized university or tertiary institution. Candidates must be willing and available to travel up to 70% of the time.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to ride a motorcycle, hands-on experience in sales and community mobilization, excellent communication skills with ability to work in teams and independently, fluency in English and at least one or two local languages, ability to maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively, strong problem-solving, multitasking and negotiation skills, computer literacy with MS Office and other applications, high analytical and creative skills, ability to work under pressure, professionalism, strong organizational skills, and ability to engage effectively with communities. Candidates must demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and strong fieldwork capability.

REPORTING STRUCTURE & SUMMARY
The Accounts Relationship Officer reports to the Accounts Relationship Supervisor and plays a key role in promoting financial inclusion by driving loan sales, ensuring proper credit appraisal, managing portfolio performance, and supporting client education through sensitization seminars and engagement activities. The role requires strong field presence, active customer engagement, and strict adherence to FINCA Uganda’s lending policies.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Deadline: 29th June 2026. Applicants must be ready for extensive field travel and community-based engagement across multiple districts in Uganda.
