Phoenix Capital is a financial services institution operating in Uganda, specializing in lending solutions such as logbook loans. The company is currently expanding its Kampala branch and is seeking experienced, motivated, and results-driven professionals to join its team as Team Leaders

 (Logbook Loans).
This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership abilities, hands-on experience in lending operations, and a solid understanding of credit and loan processing systems.

Job Summary
The Team Leader (Logbook Loans) will oversee loan sales teams, guide lending operations, ensure compliance with credit policies, and drive portfolio growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving branch performance targets while maintaining strong risk management and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team involved in logbook loan acquisition and processing.
  • Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly lending targets.
  • Oversee loan application processing, approval support, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor loan performance and support portfolio quality management.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members for performance improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support loan uptake.
  • Ensure proper documentation and verification of loan security (logbooks).
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth loan disbursement processes.
  • Prepare and submit performance reports to management.

Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Minimum of a Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or any related business field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in team management.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in logbook finance or asset-based lending.
  • Strong understanding of lending practices and loan processing operations.
  • Knowledge of credit risk management and financial services operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict performance targets.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
