The company is recruiting a Procurement Officer on behalf of its client operating in the pharmaceutical wholesale and distribution sector.

Job Summary

The Procurement Officer will support procurement and supply chain operations by managing supplier relationships, coordinating product sourcing, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely acquisition of pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement and Supplier Management
  • Coordinate procurement of pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, and equipment.
  • Source products from local and international suppliers.
  • Compare supplier prices and negotiate favourable purchasing terms.
  • Ensure purchased products meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain updated supplier records and procurement documentation.
2. Supply Chain Coordination
  • Work closely with:
    • Warehouse teams
    • Sales departments
    • Finance teams
    • Logistics teams
  • Ensure smooth movement of goods from suppliers to company stores.
  • Support supply planning based on customer demand and business forecasts.
  • Assist in improving procurement processes.
3. Inventory Management
  • Monitor stock levels to prevent:
    • Stock shortages
    • Overstocking
    • Expiry-related losses
  • Track purchase orders from supplier dispatch to delivery.
  • Verify delivery documents and supplier invoices.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
4. Supplier Relationship Management
  • Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and distributors.
  • Follow up on delayed deliveries.
  • Resolve supply discrepancies quickly.
  • Communicate procurement updates to relevant departments.
5. Procurement Documentation and Reporting
  • Prepare and maintain:
    • Purchase orders
    • Supplier quotations
    • Delivery notes
    • Procurement reports
    • Invoice records
  • Support compliance with procurement procedures and ethical standards.
6. Operational Support
  • Provide support to other departments when required.
  • Assist with administrative and logistics activities during busy periods.
