To strengthen its technology infrastructure and digital operations, OYA Microcredit is seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and results-driven professional to join its team as an IT Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organization’s IT infrastructure, network systems, communication platforms, databases, cybersecurity controls, and technology improvement initiatives.

Job Summary

The IT Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, administration, and maintenance of OYA Microcredit’s information technology systems.
The role involves managing network infrastructure, communication systems, servers, databases, hardware and software platforms, cybersecurity processes, and digital solutions to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, identify opportunities for system improvements, support business requirements, and ensure that IT services align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Management
  • Design, implement, and maintain reliable IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Manage computer networks, communication systems, and technology platforms.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure optimal availability of IT services.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Develop strategies to improve IT efficiency, reliability, and security.
Network and Communication Systems Management
  • Configure and maintain network equipment including routers, switches, and wireless systems.
  • Manage both manageable and unmanaged network devices including Cisco, UniFi, and Vigor systems.
  • Design and support telephone communication systems including IP-based phone systems.
  • Configure and maintain IP PBX solutions such as Grandstream, Yeastar, and Avaya.
  • Manage Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) solutions.
  • Monitor communication system performance and resolve technical challenges.
Server and Database Administration
  • Manage database systems and ensure data availability and security.
  • Perform server administration and system maintenance activities.
  • Monitor server performance and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Conduct regular system backups and recovery procedures.
  • Ensure effective management of organizational data.
Cybersecurity and Data Protection
  • Conduct regular security checks on networks and information systems.
  • Implement measures to protect company data and technology resources.
  • Perform system audits and identify potential security risks.
  • Recommend cybersecurity improvements and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company information security policies.
Hardware and Software Management
  • Maintain computer hardware, software applications, and IT equipment.
  • Evaluate technology solutions and recommend suitable hardware and software.
  • Assess vendors and support procurement decisions for IT resources.
  • Test and deploy new technologies to improve business operations.
  • Manage software updates, licenses, and system improvements.
Business Systems Support and Digital Platforms
  • Analyze business technology requirements and provide appropriate IT solutions.
  • Work with departments to identify technology needs and improvements.
  • Support digital platforms and online systems, including social media platforms.
  • Recommend innovative solutions to improve productivity and service delivery.
  • Ensure technology supports organizational growth objectives.
IT Budget and Resource Management
  • Monitor and manage the IT department budget.
  • Prepare reports on IT spending, resource allocation, and infrastructure performance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through effective technology management.
  • Support planning for future IT investments.
Team Development and IT Governance
  • Identify training needs and support professional development of IT team members.
  • Promote continuous improvement and technology best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional standards, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Qualifications and Requirements

Academic Qualifications
Applicants should have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking, or a related field.
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an IT Manager, IT Administrator, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing:
    • Network infrastructure
    • Servers and databases
    • IP communication systems
    • Hardware and software support
    • IT security systems

Technical Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate should have experience in:
  • Network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Cisco, UniFi, and Vigor networking equipment.
  • IP PBX systems including Grandstream, Yeastar, or Avaya.
  • VoIP and SIP technologies.
  • Server administration and database management.
  • Hardware and software maintenance.
  • Network security and system auditing.
