About BondRich Advisory

BondRich Advisory is seeking a qualified and proactive Health and Safety Officer to support the implementation and continuous improvement of workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management systems.
The successful candidate will ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, implement HSE policies and procedures, promote a strong safety culture, and help maintain a safe and healthy working environment for employees and stakeholders.

Job Summary

The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing health, safety, and environmental policies, identifying workplace hazards, conducting inspections and audits, coordinating safety training, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The role requires strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, excellent communication skills, and the ability to promote continuous improvement in workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety and Environmental Policy Implementation
  • Develop, implement, and update health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Ensure policies comply with local laws, national regulations, and industry standards.
  • Communicate HSE policies effectively to all employees.
Risk Assessment and Hazard Management
  • Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments.
  • Evaluate existing control measures and recommend improvements.
  • Implement strategies to reduce workplace risks and improve employee safety.
Training and Awareness
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training programs.
  • Train employees on emergency response procedures, safe work practices, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote awareness of occupational health, safety, and environmental best practices.
Incident Investigation
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare detailed incident investigation reports.
Compliance Monitoring and Audits
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and HSE compliance audits.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor adherence to organizational policies and legal requirements.
Emergency Preparedness
  • Develop emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and crisis management plans.
  • Organize emergency drills and evaluate response effectiveness.
  • Ensure emergency equipment and procedures remain operational.
Environmental Management
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact.
  • Promote waste management, pollution prevention, and energy conservation practices.
  • Encourage sustainable environmental practices within the organization.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor changes in occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Safety Culture and Reporting
  • Promote a positive workplace safety culture.
  • Communicate HSE updates and safety awareness campaigns.
  • Collect, analyze, and report health and safety performance data.
  • Prepare HSE reports and presentations for management.
Other Duties
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess:
  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Environmental Science
    • Occupational Health and Safety
    • Environmental Health
    • Or another related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) work.
  • Professional HSE qualification or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Skills Required

Health and Safety Management
Ability to implement workplace health and safety systems that comply with legal and organizational standards.
Risk Assessment Skills
Ability to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend effective control measures.
Compliance and Auditing
Experience conducting HSE inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring activities.
Incident Investigation
Ability to investigate accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Training and Communication
Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver safety training and awareness programs.
Environmental Management
Knowledge of environmental protection practices, waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
