JOB SUMMARY
The EIT Engineer (Electrical & Instrument) will provide technical support for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project in Uganda, ensuring effective execution of electrical and instrumentation engineering works across design, construction, commissioning, and documentation while maintaining compliance with QA/QC and HSE standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The EIT Engineer is responsible for supporting electrical and instrumentation engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, including design review, construction supervision, technical documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clarify technical issues related to Electrical & Instrument drawings and engineering designs
- Coordinate with client representatives, contractors, and site construction teams
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables including calculations, shop drawings, and material specifications
- Support design modifications, route optimization, and field engineering activities
- Provide technical support during construction, fabrication, erection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, QA/QC, and HSE standards
- Participate in design review meetings and constructability assessments
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams for effective project execution
- Prepare technical reports and ensure proper documentation of engineering activities
- Support document control, interface coordination, and technical reporting
- Assist in punch list clearance and project completion processes
- Perform any other engineering duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years’ engineering experience, including at least 5 years in Electrical & Instrument engineering
- Experience in oil & gas, pipeline, petrochemical, or large infrastructure projects
- International project experience is an added advantage
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of ASME, API, ISO, and other international engineering standards
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of Electrical & Instrument systems
- Understanding of P&IDs, vendor documentation, and QA/QC procedures
- Field engineering and construction supervision skills
- Technical reporting and documentation skills
- Design change management and coordination ability
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking ability
- Ability to work in multicultural project environments
- Knowledge of commissioning and project completion processes
