Job Summary

The Data Entrant is responsible for accurate data capture, validation, monitoring, and reporting of operational transactions across Yalelo’s Processing and Distribution Operations.
The role ensures inventory accountability, operational traceability, barcode accuracy, and data integrity within approved operational systems including YU360, Logman, Aqua Manager, D365, barcode scanning devices, and other operational platforms.
Working under the guidance of the Inventory Data Supervisor, the Data Entrant supports various operational areas including processing, packing, dispatch, warehouse operations, inventory movements, barcode activities, and reconciliation processes.
The role requires a highly accurate individual with strong computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Data Capture
  • Capture operational transactions accurately and in real time.
  • Record:
    • Product weights
    • Quantities
    • Pieces
    • SKUs
    • Batches
    • Warehouse allocations
    • Inventory movements
  • Maintain accurate operational records within approved systems.
  • Verify source documents before submitting transactions.

Inventory & Traceability Management

  • Ensure accurate product batch traceability.
  • Verify barcode allocations and inventory movements.
  • Maintain accountability of stock throughout assigned operations.
  • Support inventory reconciliation activities when required.
  • Assist in ensuring accurate tracking of products from processing to dispatch.

Barcode Operations

  • Operate barcode scanners and related equipment.
  • Verify barcode accuracy before completing transactions.
  • Prevent duplicate barcode creation.
  • Report barcode failures immediately through approved reporting channels.

Data Validation Responsibilities

Before final transaction submission, the Data Entrant must verify:
  • SKU accuracy.
  • Quantity accuracy.
  • Weight accuracy.
  • Batch accuracy.
  • Barcode accuracy.
  • Warehouse allocation accuracy.
  • Transaction timestamps.

Error Reporting and Escalation

Immediately report operational errors including:
  • Incorrect SKU assignments.
  • Wrong quantities.
  • Incorrect weights.
  • Wrong piece counts.
  • Duplicate entries.
  • Missing transactions.
  • Barcode failures.
  • Warehouse allocation errors.
  • Dispatch discrepancies.
  • Transfer order discrepancies.
  • System synchronization failures.
  • System errors.
Errors should be reported through approved channels including:
  • Email
  • WhatsApp
  • Resto Help Desk

Operational Flexibility

  • Perform duties across assigned operational workstreams.
  • Support alternative departments depending on business requirements.
  • Adapt to changing operational priorities.
  • Participate in cross-training programs.
  • Support operational continuity plans.
  • Work closely with processing, warehouse, and distribution teams.

SOP & Governance Compliance

  • Follow Operational Data Governance and Control Framework requirements.
  • Adhere to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in operational audits and investigations.
  • Support inventory verification and reconciliation exercises.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of operational information.

Key Qualifications and Experience Required

Education
Diploma in any of the following fields:
  • Statistics
  • Information Systems
  • Business Computing
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Logistics
  • Economics
  • Accounting
  • Related discipline
Experience
  • Experience in inventory operations, warehousing, manufacturing, food processing, logistics, or operational data capture is an added advantage.
  • Experience using ERP systems or inventory management systems is an added advantage.
