Job Summary
True North Uganda is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Account Developer to join its sales team in Fort Portal. The Account Developer will be responsible for strengthening brand presence at trader outlets through relationship building, trader education, promotional execution, order collection, and product delivery support.
The successful candidate will work closely with store owners, managers, and other trade partners to ensure products are visible, promotional activities are properly implemented, and customers receive accurate product information and support.
The role also involves monitoring competitor activities, identifying sales opportunities, collecting market insights, generating orders, supporting call-cycle implementation, and contributing to sales and distribution targets.
This opportunity is particularly suitable for candidates with experience in telecommunications sales, marketing, field sales, account development, retail sales, customer service, or trade marketing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administration and Reporting
  • Carry out daily reporting using HHT and monitor performance against relevant KPIs.
  • Drive and maintain the required look of success standards at trader outlets.
  • Collect and share market insights, opportunities, competitor activities, and information about product visibility.
  • Monitor product flow and identify potential sales or distribution gaps.
  • Complete required reports accurately and on time.
  • Manage company assets and equipment responsibly.
  • Complete all necessary documentation according to company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer visits, orders, promotional activities, and field activities.
2. Execution of Promotional Activities
  • Communicate promotional activities to store owners and managers.
  • Explain promotional mechanics clearly to relevant store staff.
  • Negotiate appropriate placement of Point-of-Sale (POS) materials with store owners and managers.
  • Ensure promotional activities are implemented and maintained according to company standards.
  • Report promotional activities and execution results.
  • Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders and the Supervisor.
  • Monitor competitors' new products, innovations, promotions, and market activities.
  • Ensure in-store staff understand promotional mechanics.
  • Maintain promotional event build-ups and displays as required.
  • Manage approved ad-hoc promotional activities.
  • Oversee POS installation, placement, and replenishment at trader outlets.
3. Sales and Order Generation
  • Generate customer orders and work toward achieving assigned sales targets.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and product distribution.
  • Ensure products are available and visible at assigned trader outlets.
  • Support order collection and product delivery activities where required.
  • Monitor product availability and identify gaps.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat orders and business growth.
4. Personal Journey Plan (PJP)
  • Adhere to the company's Personal Journey Plan (PJP).
  • Visit assigned trader outlets according to the approved journey plan.
  • Complete scheduled customer calls.
  • Identify sales and distribution opportunities during customer visits.
  • Capture relevant customer and market information.
  • Monitor customer coverage and performance against KPIs.
5. Call Cycle Support and Compliance
  • Identify assigned customer call cycles and ensure their implementation.
  • Administer and complete call-cycle activities according to company requirements.
  • Inform the Supervisor of call-cycle issues and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Maintain call-cycle compliance.
  • Contribute to achieving call-cycle and KPI targets.
6. Customer Service and Satisfaction
  • Gather feedback from customer complaints, queries, and requests.
  • Follow up on customer concerns and support timely resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of promotions and products.
  • Provide customers with accurate product information and advice.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with trader outlets.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and service excellence in all customer interactions.
7. Market and Competitor Monitoring
  • Monitor competitor products, promotions, and innovations.
  • Identify changes in customer behaviour and market conditions.
  • Report relevant competitor activities to the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education
  • Minimum of a Diploma in a relevant field.
  • A Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Telecommunications, or a related discipline is an advantage.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in telecommunications sales and marketing.
  • Experience in field sales, account management, retail sales, customer service, merchandising, or trade marketing is an added advantage.
