Job Overview

Twyford International Uganda is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Warehouse Receiving Specialist to manage and coordinate the receiving operations of tiles and sanitary ware products into the warehouse.
The successful candidate will ensure that all incoming products are accurately received, inspected, documented, verified, and safely stored according to approved warehouse procedures.
The role requires strong knowledge of warehouse receiving processes, inventory control, stock verification, documentation management, product inspection, and warehouse operations while maintaining accuracy and minimizing product damage.

Job Purpose

To coordinate and manage the receiving of tiles and sanitary ware into the warehouse, ensuring all incoming products are accurately verified, inspected, documented, and safely stored.

Key Responsibilities

1. Receiving Operations
  • Receive incoming tiles and sanitary ware products according to approved warehouse procedures.
  • Verify received products against:
    • Purchase orders
    • Delivery notes
    • Transfer documents
    • Other relevant receiving documentation
  • Confirm product details including:
    • Product codes
    • Product descriptions
    • Quantities
    • Product specifications
    • Packaging condition
  • Record all received stock accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure all received goods are properly accounted for before storage.
  • Support smooth warehouse receiving operations.

2. Product Inspection and Quality Checks

  • Inspect received tiles for:
    • Visible damage
    • Breakages
    • Chipping
    • Packaging defects
  • Inspect sanitary ware products for:
    • Cracks
    • Breakages
    • Defects
    • Visible damages
  • Identify and report:
    • Shortages
    • Excess quantities
    • Incorrect products
    • Damaged goods
  • Support investigation and resolution of receiving discrepancies.
  • Ensure only approved and acceptable products are moved into storage.

3. Documentation and System Updates

  • Prepare and process:
    • Goods Received Notes (GRNs)
    • Receiving documents
    • Stock records
  • Update inventory and warehouse management systems accurately.
  • Ensure all receiving documents are:
    • Properly completed
    • Approved
    • Filed correctly
  • Maintain complete records of all received stock.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for inventory tracking and audits.

4. Storage and Put-Away Operations

  • Coordinate movement of received products to assigned storage locations.
  • Ensure tiles are stored safely to minimize:
    • Breakages
    • Damage
    • Product losses
  • Ensure sanitary ware products are securely stored to prevent:
    • Cracks
    • Breakages
    • Handling damage
  • Ensure all products are:
    • Properly labelled
    • Correctly positioned
    • Stored according to approved warehouse layout
  • Support efficient warehouse organization and space utilization.

5. Coordination and Reporting

  • Coordinate with:
    • Transporters
    • Warehouse teams
    • Logistics teams
    • Procurement teams
    • Other relevant departments
  • Prepare receiving reports as required.
  • Report:
    • Receiving challenges
    • Product damages
    • Stock discrepancies
    • Documentation issues
  • Support:
    • Stocktaking exercises
    • Inventory reconciliation activities
    • Warehouse audits
  • Provide accurate receiving information to management.

Qualifications and Experience

Education Requirements
Applicants should have:
  • Diploma or Certificate in:
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Logistics
    • Warehouse Operations
    • Inventory Management
    • Related field

Professional Experience

Candidates should have:
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in:
    • Warehouse receiving
    • Inventory control
    • Logistics operations
    • Stock management
Experience in the following industries is an added advantage:
