STOCK CONTROLLER

Company: M-KOPA Uganda
Department: Retail Operations
Location: Uganda
Reports To: Retail Operations Manager / Depot Supervisor
Job Summary
The Stock Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory management, supporting efficient shop and depot operations, and delivering excellent service to Direct Sales Representatives (DSRs) and customers. The role focuses on maintaining stock integrity, ensuring operational efficiency, and enforcing compliance with M-KOPA stock management standards and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory Management
  • Conduct daily stock counts by scanning all available IMEIs and submit inventory reports for reconciliation.
  • Allocate stock to Direct Sales Representatives (DSRs) on a daily basis.
  • Follow up and recover devices that remain in the field beyond approved timelines.
  • Ensure all inventory is securely stored in designated storage areas and lockers.
  • Receive stock deliveries from the main warehouse and verify quantity and accuracy.
  • Facilitate timely stock returns to the warehouse when required.
  • Maintain compliance with all stock management policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Monitor stock movement and maintain accurate inventory records.
Customer Service
  • Support customers during the device upgrade process and provide assistance during shop visits.
  • Respond to customer inquiries professionally and ensure all issues are properly logged.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and escalate unresolved issues to relevant teams.
  • Follow established customer service standards and communication protocols.
  • Ensure availability and punctuality by reporting to the shop or depot before 8:00 AM on working days.
Outlet and Shop Management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop environment.
  • Ensure all storage areas, shelves, and lockers are properly labeled according to company standards.
  • Maintain clear, visible, and clean shop and depot branding and signage.
  • Support operational efficiency by ensuring proper stock organization and accessibility.
Compliance and Stock Control
  • Ensure adherence to inventory control procedures and company policies.
  • Safeguard company assets and prevent stock losses.
  • Participate in stock audits and reconciliation exercises.
  • Report inventory discrepancies and operational risks promptly.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.
  • Support business operations and special projects when required.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Certificate from a recognized institution in any field.
Experience
  • Entry-level position with no prior experience required.
  • Experience in retail operations, inventory management, customer service, or warehouse operations is an added advantage.
