Job Overview
The Cage Making GW is responsible for assisting in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of fish cages used in lake operations. The role supports production quality, safety compliance, and timely maintenance of cage structures.
Key Responsibilities
  • Measuring and cutting pipes according to given specifications
  • Assembling cage components using tools such as butt welding machines, cutters, and drilling machines
  • Operating machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently
  • Assisting the supervisor in inspecting cages on the lake for faults and structural issues
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Performing repairs and modifications on damaged cages when required
  • Following workplace safety procedures and consistently using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Qualifications & Experience
  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or any related technical qualification
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Good physical fitness and ability to lift materials
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions, drawings, and technical guidance
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices
