JOB OVERVIEW
The Food Processing Officer role at Urban Greens Limited is within the Uganda agro-processing, food manufacturing, and FMCG food industry sector, focusing on food safety, food processing operations, quality control, and product development in a farm-to-market system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee end-to-end food processing operations in a food manufacturing environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, HACCP, GMP, and Uganda regulations
  • Support quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) systems
  • Participate in food product development and packaging innovation
  • Manage farm-to-market supply chain processes (sourcing, processing, distribution)
  • Monitor production efficiency and reduce food waste
  • Maintain production records and safety documentation
  • Collaborate with production and logistics teams in FMCG operations
  • Support audits and compliance inspections
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field
  • 1–3 years experience in food industry, agro-processing, or food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of food processing principles and food safety systems
  • Understanding of HACCP, GMP, ISO food standards, and Uganda regulations
  • Experience in farm-to-market or food production environments
  • Strong organization and coordination skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Attention to detail in hygiene and safety compliance
  • Creativity in food product development and packaging
