JOB TITLE: ONLINE VOLUNTEER – DIGITAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN (EBOLA PREVENTION & RESPONSE)

JOB SUMMARY
UN Women Uganda is seeking a creative and experienced Online Volunteer to support the communications team in designing and disseminating a digital awareness campaign on Ebola prevention and response. The role focuses on amplifying verified public health messaging, promoting Ebola prevention awareness, and encouraging early medical attention through digital platforms.
The volunteer will contribute to public health communication by supporting content creation, message dissemination, and social media engagement to reach diverse communities across Uganda.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Digital Awareness Campaign Support
  • Support the development of approved Ebola prevention and response messages
  • Assist in designing digital communication materials for public awareness
  • Help disseminate verified health messages across online platforms
2. Content Creation & Communication
  • Draft, edit, and refine awareness messages for clarity and impact
  • Support creation of advocacy and communication materials
  • Ensure messaging aligns with public health guidelines and UN Women standards
3. Social Media & Online Engagement
  • Share campaign content on platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, X (Twitter), and others
  • Support engagement with online communities to amplify awareness messages
  • Help monitor online feedback and engagement trends
4. Community Awareness & Social Mobilization
  • Support behavior change communication efforts
  • Contribute to public education on Ebola risks, prevention, and response
  • Assist in promoting early reporting and medical attention
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Prior experience in public awareness campaigns, community engagement, or social mobilization
  • Experience in behavior change communication is highly desirable
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with digital platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and similar tools
  • Experience in designing communication or advocacy materials is an added advantage
LANGUAGES
  • English – Fluent (required)
  • Kiswahili – Fluent (desirable)
  • Luganda – Fluent (desirable)
